Lady teacher received retirement dues on Ombudsman intervention
A lady teacher Mst. Zuhra Begum received her retirement dues after the intervention of Federal Ombudsman within 60 days. She lodged a complaint against the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) on delay in payment of her retirement dues i.e. leave encashment, farewell and travel grants. She stated that her retirement notification was issued on 7th January, 2020 but even after the laps of one year and number of visits, the FDE has failed to resolve her grievances. During hearing proceedings, the Agency failed to represent a convincing ground for payment of her retirement dues. The Federal Ombudsman Syed Tahir Shahbaz by taking a serious note in the matter, directed the FDE to pay her remaining retirement dues within 30 days. The FDE, issued a cheque of Rs.601,202/- in favour of the lady complainant within the period of direction. The lady complainant in a letter of thanks lauded the intervention of the Federal Ombudsman in the resolution of her grievances within a shortest period of time. (M. Javed Chaudhary) Director Media
