Dr. Jamal Nasir is the Federal Secretary to the Government of Pakistan (BS-22). He joined Civil Services Academy in November, 1988 as an Officer of Pakistan Administrative Services (PAS).

He has rich experience of working in both Federal and Provincial Governments. He has served against various field and Secretariat assignments in Punjab, KPK and FATA. 

On promotion to BS-21 he served as Director General National Language Promotion Department, M/o Information, and Broadcasting & National Heritage. He also served as Additional Secretary, M/o Inter Provincial Coordination. Prior to his elevation as Federal Secretary to the Government of Pakistan (BS-22) he was working as Additional Secretary M/o Information Technology and Telecom.  On promotion to BS-22, he has been posted as Federal Secretary, Wafaqi Mohtasib (Ombudsman)’s Secretariat on 22.11.2018.

Trainings received in Pakistan and abroad:

1. Programmed in Public Administration at Civil Services Academy, Lahore, Pakistan (1988-1990).
2. Qualified six months in-service training in Public Administration at National Institute of Public Administration, Pakistan (2013).
3. Qualified the 100th Senior Management Course at National School of Public Policy, Lahore in 2007. 
4. In addition the above, he has attended numerous short training courses and workshops abroad.
