SYED IFTIKHAR HUSSAIN BABAR, Federal Secretary to the Government of Pakistan. Syed Iftikhar Hussain Babar, Federal Secretary (BS-22) is an officer of Pakistan Administrative Service. He did his graduation from Government College, Lahore (Pakistan) with major subjects of Economics and Political Science in 1980. He did his Masters in Public Administration with major in Financial & Personnel Management from University of the Punjab in 1983 with distinction. He completed his second Masters in Development Studies with major in Public Policy from the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, the Netherlands in 1990. He has rich experience of both Provincial and Federal Government field and secretariat assignments. He has also served as Minister Economic in the Embassy of Pakistan - Japan (2008-11). On promotion to BS-21 he served as Additional Secretary in Prime Minister’s Secretariat and in the Economic Affairs Division as well as Managing Director Overseas Pakistanis Foundation. On promotion to BS-22, he served as Secretary Board of Investment. On 22nd December, 2016 he was posted as Federal Secretary, Wafaqi Mohtasib (Ombudsman)’s Secretariat.
